When their dreams suddenly fizzled and died, something inside Darja broke. In the first few days after arrival, they were left in a state of utter despair, grieving because they might never again see the beloved sibling they left back home in Oranje. But then it was suddenly too much, and something changed. Darja continued working diligently and even starving sometimes to send a little money home without expecting letters in return. Bullied at the factory, Darja sought refuge in the Union, where they gradually built connections and some reputation. As Darja witnessed the problems in La Cage and kept thinking of their family in Oranje, they saw an opportunity to shape a better future, not just for themselves. In a difficult situation, Darja decided to try to find a glimmer of hope and positivity in everyday things, and while that was by no means easy, they somehow succeeded in that. Maybe even too much since now they sometimes even overlook the very grim and very real situation that the Du Toit household has found themselves in. But is the reality really worth it when it is so bleak?

Immigrant Housing

The immigrant housing occupies one whole wing of La Cage, the more decrepit one, hosting families that are far from home. People love creating distance between one another. Migrants from Graad and Oranje and some undocumented poor souls live here, stuck between horrible jobs in local sweatshops and old dreams. All together, squashed under one roof, the various cultures are clashing and mixing with each other, while everyone is still trying to maintain a sense of belonging. But is it even possible to call La Cage home?

Fantasy Dreamers

The Fantasy Dreamers came together through their shared love of role-playing games. What started as a run-of-the-mill tabletop game has now evolved into a complex homebrewed live-action augmented reality role-playing game where the lines between what is fiction and what is real are severely blurred. For some of the members, potentially past any point of rescue. And can any of us blame them? Living in an ancient and wondrous fairytale kingdom where the rivers flow with wine or fighting for scraps on the mean streets of Revachol? What would you choose if you were presented with those options?

The Union

The Local Union Branch is a part of the wider Union movement of Revachol. Being a local branch, they have no specialisation and cover all workers willing to unionise: and are also completely controlled by Elian and their gang. Still, for many Union is still the best platform to coordinate next steps in endless negotiations with the sweatshop owners.
