Joan is the only heir of the noble von Bergen family. They truly believe in the superiority of their bloodline and the importance of aristocratic moral principles and traditions. They did try their best. But with their fragile health and timid nature, they were never up to it. Instead, they try to escape their terrible reality by dreaming of another life while avoiding making mistakes in front of their parents.
Joan’s life became a nightmare when their parent, Paris von Bergen, practically adopted Frank Baciu, a bully neighbour who was supposed to guide and toughen them.
More recently, an unexpected event imbued Joan with shameful dreams of a simple life in a united community, supporting and loving each other. Are these dreams compatible with their legacy, or must Joan choose between them? Can there be some form of noble rule and equality for all at the same time? Does noble blood even mean anything? And if not, are they any more than a pathetic, bullied, sickly wimp from a delusional family?
Everybody who lives in La Cage is mostly poor and desperate. The families and professionals living in Apartment Blocks are the ones who really try to keep some semblance of normality in their lives. The Block A is the wealthier one - it consists of people that are sure to have food even next week but are not entirely sure if they can get medical care in times of need. All while enjoying the luxury of reliable electricity and mostly repaired windows. The people living here have at least some "power" due to their jobs, but almost everybody is afraid that their little slice of paradise will be taken from them by relocation to a different flat.
The Fantasy Dreamers came together through their shared love of role-playing games. What started as a run-of-the-mill tabletop game has now evolved into a complex homebrewed live-action augmented reality role-playing game where the lines between what is fiction and what is real are severely blurred. For some of the members, potentially past any point of rescue. And can any of us blame them? Living in an ancient and wondrous fairytale kingdom where the rivers flow with wine or fighting for scraps on the mean streets of Revachol? What would you choose if you were presented with those options?
Some young people of Revachol felt lost in life. Nothing made sense and they saw everything around them going to shit. Slowly, they realized what was causing this - the foreigners, bringing in drugs and crime, and the liberals that love them so much. Then, a solution hit them - fascism! The Iron Cadence is formed out of fascists (although the less radical of them prefer being called Traditionalists) of varying degrees. Not necessarily racist fascists, but quite often that. Joined together by a sense of the world being wrong and wanting to put it to right, by staying in SUPREME HEALTH, having SUPREME LEADERSHIP, and basking in SUPREME FRIENDSHIP.
