Avery is an environmental activist and a student at the local university. They have a heart of gold and would never hurt a living soul. They believe in grassroots movements and are full of hope. In their spare time, they strive to make their apartment and the rest of Revachol cleaner and more sustainable. They picked the People's Pile Disaster as a thesis topic, and they spend a lot of their time with those affected. They hope to bring attention to the impact this catastrophe had on the environment as well as those who, to this day, suffer from the consequences. Recently, faced with others' disinterest and thoughtlessness, Avery has been becoming increasingly desperate, even considering more forceful measures to get their point across. But how far are they willing to go?
Everybody who lives in La Cage is mostly poor and desperate. The families and professionals living in Apartment Blocks are the ones who really try to keep some semblance of normality in their lives. The Block B consists mostly of tradesmen and people of other desirable professions. People with no exceptional wealth or status, but the ones who are good and honest at their job and are beneficial to the La Cage. Educated, but not burgeois - teacher, nurse, students, social worker or people jilted from Block A. They mostly want to stay far from the troubles and extreme ideologies (to a small degree of success) but are willing to help each other as much as they can - like a big family.
You know the truth. You can see it all around you. You are some of the few enlightened people around here. Nothing is as it seems and all of humanity faces extinction. The mold is not just a fungus, it's a macro-organism who has invaded Earth long ago. It has taken root all over La Cage, breaking down not just the building but the very foundation of its humanity. And its tendrils? They've stealthily coiled around some of the most influential figures here, puppeteering them in a silent conquest that goes unnoticed by the unseeing masses.
The Mold conspiracy is a group with a strong belief in various conspiracy theories - they look past the veil of what they perceive as ignorance, but as often, the reality can be more complex than that.
The meltdown of the People´s Pile nuclear plant affected many and changed Revachol forever. Many people risked their lives, some willingly, most because they were not given a choice by the regime. How many people died during the People´s Pile disaster cleanup is not known, the Coalition did their best to cover it up. The lives of those who were “lucky” enough to survive were changed forever. They hoped that the regime would at least tend to their wounds and help them deal with the consequences of the prolonged exposure to radiation and the horrors they witnessed. The fools. A few times during the years a new hope was sparked that someone might help them. No one did and so they decided to take matters into their own hands and formed the People's Pile Disaster Support Group to help each other out and fight for the care they deserve.
