Dylan is wholly committed to their identity as “the doctor's heir”. They work at the clinic and help out wherever they can, dreaming of one day becoming a doctor themselves. They just wish their parent, Doctor Deer, would see that too. Instead, they favour their sibling Eliot, and so Dylan finds themselves always standing in the shadow of someone who could not care less about their legacy. Yes, Dylan sadly has some problems, and their high school endeavours are not yet good enough for medical university, but THEY WILL MANAGE. They will pull through, and they will show everybody. Be it through medicine, sheer grind, or their quite specific art.
In their attempts to impress their parent, Dylan will become more and more extreme, potentially setting off down a very dark path.

Sometimes, injuries to the soul cause more damage than malfunctioning tools. Years ago, Francis lost their wife in a workshop accident, and their life just fell apart after that. Their older kid with their partner, Ember, had managed somehow, but their younger, Marie, ended up in the foster care of Francis' old friend, Tony Eclissi. Francis has had a lot of problems, mostly caused by their attempts to drown their demons in alcohol. It took long, long years to fix up at least their physical side, and the Gessle family has supported them tirelessly. 

Things might also be finally turning around. Francis has managed to get a part-time job as the janitor of Apartment Block B, and through rehab and support groups around the church, they are getting ready to start living once again. They may even be able to look Marie in the eyes again when they come back to La Cage. Francis deeply believes that they have been given a second chance at life, and they must use it.

When growing up, Ira was quite famous around the neighbourhood for being a bit too... softhearted. Naive. The target of quite a few pranks. Good friend, but never anyone's choice for a life partner. When the opportunity presented itself to the three Verhoog children (Kit, Ira, and Billie) to leave La Cage using the money earned through their family pawnshop, Ira didn’t hesitate. They left and maintained only sparse communication with the old gang, slowly transforming themselves. Ira managed to get a respectable job in insurance and finance and even start their own family. But all that came to a halt when their parent started having health issues. Ira spent more and more time in La Cage in the past year while the gap between them and their new life grew. And being sandwiched between a job, a new family, and caring for their parent, Ira had to find new ways to boost their energy.

In the past, all three Verhoog children (Kit, Ira, and Billie) used their inheritance to get out of Revanchol. And let's just be honest here - Billie failed. However, Billie failed in so many positions and in so many creative ways that nobody can say they didn't try. And often, it was not some failure in skillset; it was a question of bad luck, bad coworkers and, in one peculiar case, a very badly timed release of a competing perfume. Still, all those failures obviously had some benefits because people outside of La Cage still keep investing in Billie's ideas, their new schemes, and failures. At this point, do people even expect them to succeed? What is behind their *success*?

That it had been lost long ago when their youngest child was taken down in a flurry of bullets in a deal gone bad back in the old country, and their spouse, Valja, insisted they leave with little more than the clothes on their backs. But Luka, quiet Zhenya’s keen spouse, saw Matija as they used to be. They have been Matija’s partner in a thousand deals and hustles in the past few years, and now they've brought a prime opportunity, something to get the Krots back on top – if only Matija could get the anxious Zhenya and the lazy Sasha on board, not to mention Valja, who has been distant for years now. Matija wants what every parent wants: for their children to make something of themselves, for the Krot name to be synonymous with a family that does what they want, when they want, and doesn’t give a damn about the authorities, a family that lives life on their own terms and can rely on one another. If Matija can prove they’re a force to be reckoned with, will their family come together as imagined?

Dr. Tai Kim thought they would spend the rest of their life helping people addicted to the cocaine that plagued Safre; it was their profession, their talent, their calling. Instead, here they were in La Cage, where they’d never planned to be. Almost immediately robbed of the rest of their savings and their Application for Recognition of Credentials rubber-stamped REJECTED by the stern bureaucrats at immigration, the once-respected doctor found themselves cleaning, factory work, begging. If their family only knew what they’d been reduced to. Tai’s spouse, Lian, was already distant, ever more obsessed with occult nonsense, while their children, Nuri and Zhen, had never been so stoic. On top of everything their parent, Kiran, kept insisting the family simply needed to fit in and keep their chins up. The bright spot in Tai’s days has been volunteering at Addicts Anonymous, doing whatever they can to help the people suffering there; their dreams have become limited to getting the family into more stable housing, perhaps in Block A, and the hope that the staff of the Clinic can be convinced to overlook the red tape. Will Tai’s pride keep them from sharing the burden, or can they get their family to work together toward a common goal?

Bragi has no conscious memories of the time before the travelling, but every now and then, they will wake with a cry, sweat dripping from their forehead and an uneasy feeling of loss in the pit of their stomach. They are an artist, and these dreams have fueled many drawings and paintings. Sometimes, they can almost make out a woman’s face in the drawings, but it always seems to remain elusive, just at the edge of awareness. When it’s been a while since one of their dreams, they will spend hours painting the swirling Pale as their family slowly traverses it. They have tried to recreate this flow of inspiration after they came to Revachol, but for now, they have struggled in vain.
