Faustin Verhoog
Player: Charles Bo Nielsen
Themes: history of exploitation, shifting priorities, passing legacy, price of memory
Life in La Cage generates a lot of complicated situations. You do not get your wage on time, but you need to pay the rent. You really, really want to PARTY, but you do not have any reáls on hand. Faustin knows what people need and how to provide it. And they found the perfect way to make that happen while providing for a family in a nicer part of the building: running a pawnshop. But Faustin is not young anymore and no longer plans to spend the rest of their days pawning pieces of other people’s lives. Days spent in between pawned curiosities gave them a better idea. At Faustin’s request, all three of their children (Kit, Ira, and Billie) will meet again in La Cage after many years apart, and the fate of the pawnshop will be decided. And meanwhile, Faustin will be completing their magnum opus: a great tapestry of everybody in La Cage
